Dr Chris Doig is an Australian clinical and laboratory haematologist who cares for people with blood disorders and blood cancers. He has a special interest in newer immune-based treatments, including CAR-T cell therapy and other advanced therapies that use the body’s own immune system to fight disease.
Chris obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2014, and went on to gain dual fellowship in haematology from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
His work focuses on bringing the latest research safely into everyday patient care. In his current work as the Cell Therapy and Clinical Trials Fellow at Epworth Healthcare, this includes helping to run clinical trials, improving how complex cell therapies are tested and prepared, and making sure new treatments meet the highest standards for safety and quality. Chris is passionate about clear communication and believes patients should feel informed, supported, and involved in decisions about their treatment. He is known for taking the time to explain complex medical information in a way that is straightforward and understandable, and for recognising that every patient’s experience is unique.
Chris also works as a visiting haematologist at Epworth Richmond and Freemasons, as well as the Western Private Hospital
