Dr Krystal Bergin is a Melbourne-based clinical and laboratory haematologist with expertise in multiple myeloma, bone marrow transplantation, and plasma cell disorders. She completed her haematology training at The Alfred before undertaking laboratory haematology training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and a fellowship in leukaemia and bone marrow transplantation at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada. Following her return to Melbourne, she completed an additional fellowship in myeloma and has become actively involved in both clinical care and translational research.
Dr Bergin is currently affiliated with Alfred Health and has a strong research focus on myeloma demographics, treatment outcomes, and emerging therapies, particularly within the Australian and New Zealand setting. She has completed a PhD through Monash University and serves as an investigator on multiple myeloma clinical trials, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her clinical work, she is a steering committee member of the Myeloma and Related Diseases Registry and a member of several leading haematology organisations, including HSANZ, ALLG and EHA.
