Carmen is an accomplished oncology and haematology nurse with 10+ years of experience across acute and outpatient cancer services. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Oncology Nursing and is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Haematology Nursing.

Previously a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Epworth Freemasons Day Oncology Unit, Carmen coordinated and delivered complex systemic therapies for diverse haematologic and solid tumour diagnoses. Her scope includes chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, clinical trial therapies, autologous stem cell transplantation and CAR-T care, and specialised apheresis procedures within stringent safety and quality frameworks.

In her current role, Carmen leads end-to-end treatment coordination. Comprehensive assessment, regimen planning and verification, day-unit workflow optimisation, and real-time toxicity management. She provides clear, practical education to patients and families on treatment intent, schedules, and side-effect strategies; Collaborates closely with medical, pharmacy, and allied health teams to streamline pathways; and ensures alignment with evidence-based guidelines and local protocols. Her practice emphasises safety, timeliness, and a consistently positive patient experience.

Carmen’s professional interests include supportive care optimisation, treatment education that empowers patients and service improvements that make complex cancer care simpler and safer to navigate.
